Please visit Toby Mendez Portfolios (tobiasmendezstudios.com) for more on Toby.

Toby has received numerous awards and honors through his work.  He has dozens of dedicated public and corporate commissions throughout the United States.  He was elected to the Level of Fellow of the National Sculpture Society, by the Board and His

Professional Peers in 2018.  Appointed by the Governor of Maryland, he served on the Parris Glendening Commission for Artistic Properties from 1997-2010, Toby was elected to the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, Maryland in 2013 to a post he still serves.

Toby is currently working on a twenty-four-inch clay maquette that will be used for discussion with the National Park Service and for fundraising. The MCWA Board is excited to have reached this stage, which holds great promise of achieving a design appropriate for this commemorative project.  Work on the full-size monument will begin once the requisite funds are raised.
